“We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give.”

_ Winston Churchill

Remember the pair of pants in your closet that you haven’t worn in two years or the shirt that is still nice but just hasn’t been in your regular rotation of clothes? Here’s an idea: take a bag to your closet and fill it with all the clothes you don’t wear anymore even throw in a shirt you really like and take it down to the local Goodwill or Salvation Army store. Giving is a rewarding experience.

Rewards are everywhere these days. You fly a particular airline, and you get so many free air miles in return. Purchase four CDs, and you get one free. Giving offers rewards as well. What you give is what you get. The first reward goes to the people who receive your gift. They are rewarded by your interest in them and your compassion for their need. The second reward goes to you. When you commit a random act of unselfishness, it simply makes you feel good inside.

Be generous with others. It’s worth the investment.
