ECCLESIAL THOUGHT (SECOND TERM WEEK ONE) – COOPERATION

“Teamwork makes the dream work!”

  • S. Mark Hollingsworth

Shelly had been shooting great the whole game. In the seconds of her high school basketball game, the score was tied. She dribbled the ball up the court, focused quickly on the rim, and took a desperate shot with three opposing players all over her. The ball, thrown like a bullet, bounced off the backboard and into the hands of an opposing player. That player threw it quickly down the court to another player who put it into the basket with a winning lay-up.

Shelly was focused on her game, but she forgot about the importance of teamwork. The outcome would have been different if she had passed to her teammate who was in position under the goal.

Teamwork isn’t for sports only. In almost every area of life, it’s better to work in cooperation with others. Their experience and skills only add to yours. They may be in a better position to accomplish the task. Why not pass to them?

Don’t do it alone. Pass to your friends, your family, or your coworkers. The game you save may be your own.
