“You can’t make footprints on the sands of time sitting down. Take a step of faith!”
- Jerry Brecheisen
What is faith? Faith is an inner belief, or trust, in something or someone. It’s not something you can see or touch. Often, you believe in something even though you can’t fully understand it. For example, if you drive a car, you put a key into the ignition, and you trust that by turning the key will start a chain of events that will take you from where you are now to where you want to go.
Have you ever heard of people who lost faith in something or someone? They stopped believing because they encountered setbacks in their lives. Actually, setbacks are a good place to put faith into action. A champion figure skater doesn’t quit a routine because of a fall. He or she gets up from the ice, continues the routine, and then uses the incident as a learning point. The skater overcomes the setback by believing that he or she will do better next time.
Can you overcome your setbacks? You’d better believe it!
